East gate, Ezekiel 44:1– represents the gate of the Lord. “Enter by the narrow  gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and  those who enter by it are many”, Matthew 7:13.

South gate, Ezekiel 47:1 – represents the living water which flowed from the south gate. “On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, ‘Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!’” John 7:37. 

West Gate, not mentioned in Ezekiel – but Isaiah 24:14 states that the majesty of the Lord will be shouted from the west. Jesus sanctifies sinners. “To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those

sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours”,

1 Corinthians 1:2.

The gates therefore are symbolic of Jesus, the glory of God, through Whom alone is salvation. He is the only entrance into the Kingdom of God. By pouring out His spirit, believers can walk in the Spirit, and for those who walk in the spirit, there is no condemnation.

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved”, Acts 4:12.

Enter through the narrow gate.
